About Bright Molar

Bright Molar is a UK guide to dental costs and dental products. We put the price near the top of every page, show where each number came from and say when it was checked.

What we publish

  • Guides to how NHS dentistry works in England, what the charge bands cost and who pays nothing.
  • Comparisons of private and NHS prices, using published price lists.
  • Plain buying guides for electric toothbrushes, water flossers, whitening and toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
  • Four comparison tools that run in your browser and use figures you can edit.

How we work

Bright Molar is an independent editorial project. We read official sources first: the NHS website, the NHS Business Services Authority, the General Dental Council, the Oral Health Foundation and published research such as Cochrane reviews. For product specifications and prices we use published reviews and retailer listings, and we show the date we looked.

  1. Every price carries a date. When you see “checked October 2026”, that is when we read it.
  2. Every health or legal claim links to its source on the page.
  3. When two sources disagree, we say so and show the range.
  4. When a figure comes from a single listing, we call it an example and not an average.

What we do not do

  • We do not give medical or dental advice. We are not a dental practice, and the site is not a substitute for a dentist.
  • We do not claim to have tested products. Our product guides summarise published specifications and reviews.
  • We do not take payment for rankings. See how this site makes money.

Tell us when we are wrong

Prices change and so do rules. If you spot a figure that is out of date or a claim we have not supported, email us at the address on our contact page. We will check it against the source, correct the page and note the correction.
