Privacy policy
Last updated 28 October 2026.
Bright Molar collects as little personal information as it can. This page explains what that is, why we hold it and what you can ask us to do.
Who we are
Bright Molar is the publisher of this site. For any privacy request, write to hello@brightmolar.co.uk. We handle personal data in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and working.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address so we can reply and, where needed, correct a page.
- Nothing else. The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no advertising or analytics scripts.
Your choices inside the comparison tools
The comparison and cost tools run in your browser. The brushes, flossers, treatments or percentages you pick are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device so the page remembers them when you come back. They are not sent to us. You can clear them by using the tool’s reset button or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Why we use your data
We use server logs for security and to keep the site running. We use emails to answer you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests for logs, and your request for a reply when you write to us.
How long we keep it
Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your message and any correction that follows, and then deleted. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for its normal retention period.
Cookies
The pages we write do not set advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser or the hosting platform may set technical ones. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the guides and tools work without them.
Links to other sites
We link to the NHS, research papers and retailers. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it and object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
