Electric toothbrush comparison tool

Choose up to three brushes, and the tool lines them up on price, technology, pressure feedback, modes, battery life, noise and the cost of owning each over two years. Start from the six models in our electric toothbrush guide, or edit the figures to match the prices you see in the shop.

    What the specs mean

    • Technology. Sonic brushes vibrate an oval head quickly. Oral-B’s oscillating-rotating brushes spin and pulse a round head. We found no study showing one is better for everyday brushing.
    • Pressure feedback. A light or a vibration warns you when you press too hard. Brushing too hard can wear gums, so we count this as a useful feature, and the cheapest brush in the tool does not have it.
    • Modes. Daily clean, sensitive and gum-care modes change the speed or the pattern. For Oral-B’s modes, Electric Teeth says the cleaning results are very similar, so more modes is not a reason to pay more.
    • Battery life. The figure is days between charges, as listed by the review site. Real life varies with how long you brush.
    • Noise. Decibels as measured by the review site. A difference of 10 dB is clearly noticeable.
    • Head cost. The listed price of one replacement head. The NHS advises changing a brush or head about every three months.

    Price over two years

The tool adds the brush price to a number of replacement heads, with the defaults set to eight heads over two years. Change the number of heads or the head price in the controls if you buy larger packs or switch to cheaper compatible heads.

Prices and specifications come from the review site Electric Teeth (6 October 2026) and were checked in October 2026. Prices move often, so confirm them with the retailer.

What to ask your dentist or hygienist

    • Is my technique wearing my gums, and would a pressure alert help?
    • Which head shape suits my teeth, for example a smaller head for crowded back teeth?
    • Do I need interdental brushes or floss as well? An electric brush does not clean between teeth.
    • Should I use a sensitive toothpaste? See our guide.
