Hot Tub Break Cost Calculator
A quote for a hot tub lodge usually starts with a single price for the stay. The calculator adds what the operator charges on top, so you can see the number you will actually pay, the cost of each night and the cost for each person. It does not guess any fee: you type in what the listing or quote shows, and leave a box empty when a fee does not apply.
How to fill it in
Accommodation price. The figure the listing shows for the whole stay, for your dates.
Fees you must pay. These are the charges you cannot avoid if you book the lodge: a cleaning fee, a booking or service fee, heating or fuel for the tub when it is charged apart, linen and towels, and any compulsory local charge. Dogs have their own boxes. Choose a rule from the list and the fee fills in, or choose no rule and type the figure from your quote.
Optional extras. Logs, a sauna session or a late checkout are your choice, so the calculator shows the total with and without them.
Part paid on arrival and refundable deposit. Some operators take part of the cost at the park. The calculator shows what you pay now and what you pay later. A refundable deposit is held and returned, so it sits outside the total.
A worked example
Here is a sample stay with made-up round numbers, to show the arithmetic. A lodge is quoted at £600 for 3 nights for two people. The quote adds a £40 cleaning fee and a £25 booking fee, and you bring one dog, charged at £15 a night.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Accommodation, as quoted | £600.00 |
| Cleaning fee | £40.00 |
| Booking fee | £25.00 |
| Dog fee: 1 dog for 3 nights at £15 | £45.00 |
| Total you must pay | £710.00 |
| Logs, your choice | £30.00 |
| Total with your extras | £740.00 |
The total you must pay is £710.00, which is £236.67 a night and £355.00 each. The compulsory fees add £110.00, or 18.3%, to the £600 you saw first. With the logs the stay costs £740.00, or £246.67 a night.
Fees in the dog list
The dog rules come from the operators’ own pages, checked in October 2026. Forest Holidays charges £15 per pet per night for up to four pets. Away Resorts charges from £45 per dog for breaks under 7 nights and from £60 for 7 nights or more, for up to two dogs, and describes these as “from” prices, so confirm the final figure when you book. Center Parcs adds a dog fee but does not print the amount on the page we read, so choose no rule and type the figure from your quote.
When the fees look too high
If the compulsory fees reach 20% of the headline price, the calculator says so. That is a prompt to look back at the listing and ask whether each fee was in the price you saw first. Since April 2025 the Competition and Markets Authority has treated hiding compulsory fees until late in the booking as drip pricing, and the rights guide sets out what the rule requires. To find a park to quote, use the finder.
Watch out: The tool is a planning aid. Only the operator’s booking page can tell you the final price, so check the total there before you pay.
